Weapons

Assault Rifles:

• SCAR is the short form of “Mk.20 Superior Combat Assault Rifle”. It can hold up to 40 (+1) rounds in one magazine. It’s the standard assault rifle of the military in Crysis 2.
• Grendel Assault Rifle, a 30-round 3-shot battle rifle that resembles the Magpul Masada, albeit with a thicker barrel and larger magazine.
• Scarab

Submachine Guns:

• Feline SMG, a bullpup SMG with a 60 (+1) round magazine. It is very similar to the real life assault rifle FN F2000.
• K-Volt, an electric pellet submachine gun that looks a lot like the TDI Vector.

Shotguns:

• Jackal shotgun, a semi-automatic shotgun with a 7 (+1) round box magazine.
• Marshall shotgun, a pump-action shotgun based on the shotgun in Crysis.

Sniper Rifles:

• DSG-1 Sniper rifle, It has a 8 (+1) shot magazine and is now semi-automatic.
• M20 14 Gauss sniper rifle

Heavy Machine Guns:

• Mk.60 Mod 0
• L-Tag
• X-43 Mike.

Sidearms (secondary weapons):

• M12 Nova sidearm: It appears to be based on Crysis’s SOCOM. It has a 20 (+1) rounds big magazine.
• Hammer, a Heavy Semi-Automatic Pistol with 9 (+1) rounds per magazine.
• Majestic Pistol (heavy revolver)
• A Y69 (machine pistol)
  

Heavy Weapons:

• Mk60, a machine gun seen in the Multiplayer demo that resembles the M60E4.
• L-TAG Grenade Launcher, a 6-shot grenade launcher that resembles the M79 grenade launcher.
• X-43 Microwave Induced Klystron Emitter

Explosives:

• Frag grenade. It seems that now the player can’t throw it while holding another weapon. It has the same launch reticule of the L-TAG but upside down.
• JAW rocket launcher. Unlike the LAW, the rocket launcher has only one round in it; it has also a different targeting sight.
• C4
• Smoke Grenade
• M34 Flash (concussion grenade)

Nanosuits enable players to switch to and from three different modes: Power, Armor and Stealth. Power mode is the default one when others aren’t active. Armor mode enables you to absorb additional damage for a short time, and stealth mode turns you invisible. The different modes also drain your energy so you have to use them carefully.

Nanosuit Modules List

1. Armor Modules

• Air Stomp – performs a downwards attack when in the air
• Proximity Alarm – gives you an automatic warning when an enemy is near
• Armor Enhance – reduces the amount of energy drain while in Armor mode
• Threat Tracer – highlights incoming bullet paths
• Nano Recharge – gives you faster health recharge
• Detonation Delay – delays detonation of nearby enemy grenades
• Energy Transfer – whenever you score a kill you will restore half of your energy

2. Stealth Modules

• Stealth Endurance – faster transition in and out of stealth
• Covert Ops – enemies will not hear your footsteps
• Cloak Tracker – tells you when enemies enter Stealth mode near you
• Jammer – scrambles the radar of all enemies within 10 meters
• Blind Spot – provides protection from the Maximum Radar bonus
• Tracker – highlights enemy routes
• Visor Enhance – highlights enemies through weapon scopes

3. Power Modules

• Side Pack – enables you to carry an additional clip of primary ammo
• WeaponPro – your weapons will reload faster
• Aim Enhance – decreases weapon recoil when aiming down sights)
• Loadout Pro – allows you to carry two primary weapons
• Rapid Fire – gives you a faster fire rate on primary weapons)
• Point Fire Enhance – reduces the spread of primary weapons when firing from the hip
• Mobility Enhance – sprinting or jumping require less energy
• Retriever – automatically collects dog tags from killed enemies

Energy Management

It’s extremely important to learn how to properly manage your energy in Crysis 2. It often means the difference between a kill and a death so make sure you read this few tips and remember them.

• Use Armor mode whenever you can. It doesn’t drain too much energy and can save you very often.
• Sprinting and power jump are the two movements in Crysis 2 that require energy to be used. Sprinting drains it pretty quickly so make sure you don’t use it too much, especially while in Stealth mode.
• When in Stealth mode moving consumes a lot more energy overall. Make sure you unstealth before you fire at someone or you will lose all energy.
• Use Nanovision to spot enemies (even stealthed ones). It doesn’t drain too much energy.

There’s a ton of additional energy management tips you can use which you can read in Zobias guide. Remember to also use nanosuit modules that decrease your energy drain if you’re having trouble with it.

That’s about all the most important contents you can find in Zobias Crysis guide. As you can see it’s useful for beginner players as well but most of the content is aimed at those who really want to become better at this game and constantly own other players.

The guide is supposed to get pulled off shortly so I suggest you don’t wait.

There are several different multiplayer game modes:

1. Team Instant Action – team deathmatch
2. Instant Action – deathmatch
3. Crash Site – similar to Headquarters where you have to secure an alien drop pod site
4. Capture the Relay – standard capture the flag mode
5. Assault and Extraction – you have to deliver an objective to your base

Instant and Team Instant Action modes can be played by anyone by default. Other modes are unlocked by gaining certain ranks or levels. There’s a maximum of 50 levels in Crysis 2, and you can gain experience required for them with a number of different ways:

• First Strike! – Get the opening (first) kill +50
• Smackdown! – Kill an enemy with a melee attack +50
• Punture! – Kill an enemy through an object +50
• Headshot! – Kill an enemy in the head +50
• Busted! – Kill a cloaked enemy +50
• Double Kill! – Kill two enemies one right after the other +50
• Combined Fire! – Kill an enemy with two guns +50
• Intervention! – Kill an enemy that is shooting your teammate +50
• Defiant! – Kill an enemy that is shooting you +50
• Vengeance! – Kill the enemy that kill you +50
• Dead Air! – Kill an enemy in mid-air +50
• Specter! – Kill an enemy while cloaked +50
• Flushed! – Hurt an enemy with a grenade and kill him +50

In the game’s multiplayer menu there’s an option labeled “Progression” where you can check how much experience (XP) you need to obtain the next level. As you level up you will unlock points which you can use to upgrade weapons and unlock new abilities for your nanosuit.

Here’s a few tips you should keep in mind in multiplayer matches:

• Make sure you switch from Power, Stealth and Armor nanosuit modes all the time as required
• Always keep an eye on your energy meter
• Always pick up dog tags (if you’re too lazy just get the nanosuit module that picks it up automatically). Dog Tags allow you to call an orbital strike and similar rewards
• Make sure you look at the map before you call in an orbital strike so you hit as many enemies as possible
• Don’t forget to use the visor functionality. If your teammates kill a marked enemy you can also get additional points!

As I already mentioned, this is currently the only available Crysis 2 strategy guide. Fortunately I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by it however as it does contain plenty of quality tips, tricks, strategies, tactics and guides you will surely find useful.

For me the most useful part of Zobias C2 strategy guide is the one about nanosuits and weapons. Knowing the differences, stats, mechanics and other ins and outs of them is crucial to having more success in defeating your opponents. It’s especially important for multiplayer games in which you battle other players: you will want every possible advantage you can get there, and that’s exactly what this guide provides.

Breakdown of classes is also useful, but for me not nearly enough as the overview of every single multiplayer map, along with the strategies, choke points, tactical map advantages, screenshots, and tons of other information. With this you’ll know exactly what the pro players constantly use to get incredibly high scores in matches, and no we’re not talking about any kind of cheats or hacks here. Just by knowing the terrain and the map will give you a significant advantage over others, so make sure you don’t skip this part of the strategy guide.

Overall Zobias clearly put a lot of effort into writing this guide and his tips don’t come from some Crysis 2 forums or blogs, but obviously he knows it because he has spent an incredible amount of time actually playing the game. If you want to keep dominating other players in online matches over and over again this guide is exactly what you need.
