Upgrading your equipment to legendary quality and purchasing legendary enchants can be quite expensive, not to mention the hundreds of thousands of gold you’ll spend on upgrading inventory space and purchasing mounts. The beginner’s guide to making gold in ESO below is written by a redditor named thri11co11ector and will surely be helpful to anyone looking to earn some quick gold in this game, or at least not waste as much!

First of all take the time to find a top trading guild. (I wholeheartedly recommend Hlaalu Trading Company if you are in the Ebonheart Pact.) What you are looking for is an ACTIVE guild. They should have close to 500 members and a stall in a major city but even more importantly they should have more than 50 players online even at non-peak hours. This means on the weekend and at peak evening hours they will have 100+ people online. This is what you want. Activity. Now that you have a good trading guild:

Collect all Alchemy reagents and sell those in the guild store. Yes, you can sell them in zone chat but I get more for the same items in the guild store. (With less effort too. I have seen people pay 200g each for top herbs. One of the fastest farming grinds in the game.)

Gold saved is gold earned. Don’t repair items! Once you are VR it makes a little more sense but from level 1-50 it is petty much a waste of gold. Wear green or blue items you find and when they are broken sell or deconstruct them. If you are OCD like me and can’t stand your character looking like crap then make your own matching armor sets every two levels or so and just decon/sell everything you come across. If you hate crafting, wear your favorite costume so you don’t have to look like the village idiot while being frugal.

Don’t pay to fast travel to wayshrines. Run or ride to the nearest one and then you can fast travel between them for free. You can also fast travel to friends and guildmembers for free. (If in a group you can fast travel to a group member as well) Just go to the respective group, contact or guild menu and right click the players name.

Deconstruct everything you pick up until your desired crafting skills reach level 50. Then at that point, I would sell all white and green items you pick up, (with the exception being if they are part of a dropped set) deconstruct blue and undesirable purple items and sell good purple and dropped set items in your guild store.

Don’t bother trying to sell jewelry in the guild store unless it is purple, gold or part of a dropped set. There is just too much jewelry out there for sale to make an easy profit, IMO.

The best provisioning ingredients come from hirelings (tomatoes, oats, red wheat etc…) and provisioning is super easy to level up. All in all, I think provisioning is better as a craft for the food and drink then to try and sell the raw ingredients. With the justice system and provisioning updates though a lot could change about the way we collect ingredients and make food so we’ll just have to see. If one of your crafts is provisioning like me, I personally hoard ALL ingredients and once I am stocked up I do a huge bake off and make a crap load of food. I use my best food for myself, sell the level 50+ foods that people actually pay for and vendor the rest to NPC. I make a good amount of gold this way.

Buy bag upgrades. I know it seems counter-productive at first to spend so much on bag space but once you have them you can make more gold, and quicker so it is a worthy investment.

The basic motif books aren’t worth much anymore but the rarer styles still go for a bit. Dwemer pages and materials go for a ton right now and purple recipes still fetch a bit too. (Although they have come down a lot.)

Hit up all red (Aspect) runes. Most of the time you will get a Ta but occasionally you will get a green, blue, purple or gold Aspect Rune and you can sell these for a bit. (Please note: these prices WILL change over time and only reflect my experience on the NA server.)

Jejota (green) = about 100g a piece

Denata (blue) = about 400g a piece

Rekuta (purple) = about 900g a piece

Kuta = (gold) = about 3000-3500g a piece

You can sell stacks of mats but they go for as cheap as 900g a stack in my experience and I like to spend my gold grinding time elsewhere personally.

Unless you PvP a ton before level 50 I would wait to buy a horse. I didn’t buy a horse until VR 3 because all I did is PvE and you honestly don’t need it. I had plenty of gold to comfortably buy the 42,000g horse because I waited. (This horse is mainly for speed in PvP anyway.)

I like to sell weapon and armor glyphs too. (I just NPC vend all jewelry glyphs as of now.) I only use magicka armor glyphs so I sell all the stamina and health ones I pick up for about 125g a piece in the guild store. Weapon glyphs I sell for a little less. (89g – 110g depending on the effect.)

Invest in the Soul Lock passive in the Soul Magic skill line. With 2 points in this passive you will have a 10% chance to trap a soul when killing an enemy with a weapon. Full, Grand Soul Gems are worth a ton and with the removal of forward camps from PvP they will most likely continue to be.

We recommend you also take a look at these 5 easy way to make gold in ESO. They are really beginner-friendly and will make you gold guaranteed.

Draenor is a strange and dangerous place unforgiving to casual players, so unless you have years of experience playing WoW don’t be shy to get help. With Killerguides’ latest strategy and leveling guide you can easily stay ahead of the curve and leave your friends and guild mates far behind!

Warlords of Draenor Guide website

The biggest thing about Warlords of Draenor is the increased level cap to 100: farming even more experience and levels can be a tedious task and a huge time sink, and WoW is the kind of game which you truly start enjoying only when you hit the level cap. This guide includes a step-by-step leveling walkthrough with proven farming and grinding techniques which will get you to 100 in just a couple of short days of casual play, or even less if you’re truly dedicated: record leveling time with this guide so far is less than 10 hours of actual gameplay! It’s packed with juicy info on quests, bosses, areas, and dungeons, and it’s a must-read for anyone looking to level quickly in Warlords.

Killerguides Warlords of Draenor guide doesn’t stop at just leveling. There are many more chapters explaining different aspects of the game and revealing secrets very few players know. The guide is written by veteran players who already put in hundreds of hours into the expansion and know it’s intricacies. Below we’ll take a short look at the most important info and chapters in this guide.

Dungeons guide

Dungeons are some of the most fun encounters in World of Warcraft. Grabbing your friends or random players doesn’t have to be frustrating and take forever, as with the dungeon walkthroughs explained here you will know exactly what to do and how to efficiently and quickly clear any of the 7 new dungeons introduced in Draenor.

Raids guide

You can finally feel more confident about joining raids with comprehensive guides on bosses and their strategies. New raids in Warlords of Draenor are harder than ever and it’s crucial you come prepared. Also included are guides for beating raids in the new Mythic difficulty, and if you’re into high end raiding with your guild this part will be invaluable.

Garrison mode guide

The constant onslaught of orcs requires having an efficient Garrison to hold them back. With Killerguide you will have the exact blueprint to building an impenetrable fortress and be on a fast track to unlock all the special items and prestige that comes with it. Eventually you can even become a master Garrison manager and boost your own character’s power and wealth, so be sure to not skip this part!

PvP guide

PvP has been one of the most energizing and ludicrously fun aspects of World of Warcraft for years. With Warlords of Draenor a new cross-realm PvP zone called Ashran opens up, which gives the opportunity for hundreds of players to fight each other simultaneously. This massive scale player versus player encounter makes it hard to coordinate everything correctly but every single player participating can make a huge difference in the outcome of the battle, which is why knowing the map objectives, key points in the zone and other tactics can be invaluable to anyone trying to compete in Ashran.

Gold guide

Making gold has been a fundamental problem for majority of the population. Unless you’re bringing vast riches from previous expansions (or even if you’re looking to increase it), this guide will prove invaluable. Gold makes character development so much easier, as you can obtain some of the best gear and enchants more easily and sooner than most other can. This guide provides various gold-making tactics and strategies for increasing your riches, and it’s highly efficient with your time. Whether you want a 10-minute gold boost or a sustained long-term income, the guide has you covered. And best of all, you will never have to resort to any grinding which can be incredibly tedious and boring.

All of the above is not the end of this all-in-one strategy guide though. It includes other chapters as well which explain every new feature introduced in the expansion, as well as old ones. If you’re curious to find out which talents are most effective, how new character builds work out in PvP or dungeons, or which item sets are the new must-have, this guide will tell it all. For anyone looking to get the most out of their play time in World of Warcraft the Killerguides Warlords of Draenor guide is essential to staying competitive, learning the game quickly, and actually enjoying it!

Since some of the best gear in the game is player-crafted and not dropped, you can easily spend rather large amounts just purchasing proper equipment for your character. Crafting items isn’t overly expensive though, but upgrading their quality to Epic (purple) and subsequently Legendary (gold) can get extremely expensive — with current market prices it would take nearly 50,000g just to upgrade one item to Legendary quality.

And there’s always the gold sinks such as repairing equipment, purchasing and feeding horses, and also important increasing your character’s inventory and bank space. Bottomline is gold is easily spent and there will always be a demand to earn more of it, so I hope some of my tips and experiences can help you out in earning more gold in ESO. Most of them include using Guild Stores to trade more conveniently, so being part of several large trading guilds with active members is certainly helpful.

5. Sell traits

With research times lasting months of real time, players are often looking to maximize their trait research times and will often gladly pay for certain traits on items. Some can be quite difficult to find and getting 500g-1,000g for selling a simple level 1 item with the required trait is very common. You can pay attention to zone chats and you’ll frequently see players purchasing traits, so if you have them be sure to contact them as this is one of the easiest ways to make gold with very little effort.

Tip: use Research Assistant addon to quickly check which traits you have!

You can also utilize guild stores to sell traits, though from my experiences not as many people are searching there. Some of the most sought after traits are:

Light and medium armor: Impenetrable on gloves, head, shoulders, belt

Heavy armor: Divines and Infused on boots (and pretty much all other item slots)

Staves: Weighted on Inferno Staff, Precise on Lightning Staff

Also Training and Exploration are surprisingly sought after frequently as well for all items: most players research these last and with 12/24 day research timers are easily prepared to pay 1,000g just to do it as soon as possible. This is by no means an extensive list of traits you can sell, but guild stores have limited slots for putting items up for sale so don’t overdo it and keep it down to just a few best-selling traits I listed.

4. Buy and resell Monumental Glyphs from vendors

Not the best nor most profitable way to make gold, but this easily nets me 1,000-2,000 gold a day. You’d be surprised how many Veteran players don’t know you can purchase Monumental (currently highest) level glyphs from vendors for mere 255 gold a piece, meaning you can resell them to other players for twice the amount of not more. These glyphs don’t add much Inspiration for deconstruction but there’s always gear to be enchanted and not many players have thousands to spend on Legendary glyphs.

I’m guessing if so many players haven’t figured this out yet chances are this will be a decent money-making tip for awhile. Check your favorite enchanter in Veteran zones: I play Ebonheart Pact, so I shop from the one in Rawl’Kha in Reaper’s March. I typically put them up on my guild stores for 600g each which doubles my investment in a very short time. Health and Magicka glyphs sell best!

3. Refine raw materials

Though the recent patch 1.2.3 slightly decreased the chances of gaining higher quality tannins, resins, and tempers for improving equipment’s quality, the principle still works. More often than not players will be prepared to sell you a stack of 100 raw materials for far less than 1,000g, even 600g per stack. From my observations there’s about 2-3% chance to gain a Legendary improvement material when refining 10 raw materials, giving you roughly a 25% chance to get one per stack. Since legendary mats can be sold for 5,000g each, even paying 1,200g for a stack of raw materials is worth it.

Don’t forget, you also get Elegant Linings, Grain Solvents and Mastics worth about 1,000g each at an even greater chance. The chances I mentioned for gaining Improvement mats are based on having 3/3 skill points in Metal Extraction, Unraveling and Wood Extraction, which all greatly increase the odds of gaining them.

2. Use Hirelings

Spending skill points into Hirelings for Clothing, Blacksmithing and Woodworking is immensely profitable, particularly if you invest full skill points into them. With 3/3 in Hirelings you have roughly a 20% chance to gain one or even two Legendary crafting materials twice a day. If you include Epic ones into the equation and raw materials you can further use for refining, this means you can get 5,000g per day on average without lifting a finger!

Best of all, you can do this on 8 characters. Though leveling professions takes time and essentially gold, even basic hirelings with 1 skill point invested will on occasion send you Legendary mats. If you make a new character, you start with level 3 with equal amount of skill points to spend: just enough to put them into hirelings without even having to do any quests, gain any levels or hunt for skyshards. You will need to level your Woodworking, Blacksmithing and Clothing to level 3 though, but that only takes 2-3 Veteran item deconstructions. Easy, cheap and highly profitable, and all you have to do is log in with each character once a day and pick up the profits.

1. Deconstruct items

Though the prices may change, currently you can sell Superior (blue) improvement materials such as Dwarven Oil, Turpen and Embroidery for 500g a piece. If you invested skill points into Extraction passives as mentioned in the “Refine raw materials” tip above, you will have about 85% chance to gain a blue mat when deconstructing blue items. Being a part of 4 trading guilds I can purchase at least 20-30 blue items on guild stores for less than 200g a piece every day, and simply resell all those improvement materials for higher prices. You also get a ton of refined materials which you can further sell for higher profits, or just vendor them for 400g/stack.

Even higher profits though can be made by purchasing and deconstructing purple quality items. Again I can easily purchase up to 10 purple items for less than 500g each, deconstruct them for a 75% chance to gain a purple improvement item, and resell them for 1,200g or more. There’s still a really good profit margin here, but if you dread selling so many things all the time at the very least you can get improvement materials for half the price this way.

In closing

These are right now one of my favorite things for making gold in ESO. Combining all of these does take some time and effort but easily nets me at least 10,000 gold every day, and it sure as heck beats grinding! Trading and crafting isn’t everyone’s cup of tea though, but there are plenty of other ways to make gold in Elder Scrolls Online:

Farm raw materials and sell them to other players, or refine them yourself. For selling refined stacks of cloth, iron and wood level 30-45 is best, and VR1-VR3 mats usually sell faster than highest Veteran Rank ones.

Do public group dungeons, sell items with Intricate (increased Inspiration gained when deconstructing) trait to other players for 100-200g a piece.

Do public group dungeons and sell dropped Glyphs to enchanters for up to 300g a piece.

Buy empty Soul Gems from vendors, fill them and resell for 10-20% more.

Grind bosses in delves, deconstruct blue items, and sell gems and potions (very profitable when done right!).

Farm herbs, sell for 100g-150g a piece. Mountain Flower is often bought for up to 200g a piece.

Grind for racial motifs (extremely boring and repetitive, nevertheless profitable). Good places are Altmer Embassy in Grahtwood, Daggerfall Castle in town of Daggerfall, Inn in Rawl’Kha town in Reaper’s March.

As an acclaimed publisher of game guides Killerguides simply refuses to disappoint time and time again. Their authors are some of the most knowledgeable gamers you will ever meet, and the amount of time and dedication put into the Wildstar guide makes it obvious they know what they’re talking about. Having spent a lot of time in Wildstar’s beta myself I’m not ashamed to admit I still have plenty to learn about the game, and this guide is definitely the best way to do so.

Killerguide includes a top-notch, most detailed 1-50 leveling guide you can ask for. It’s very thorough giving you optimized questing paths and secretive leveling techniques which only a few privileged players were aware of — until now. With this leveling guide even a casual player can reach the level cap in a week, and even amass quite the wealth in the process. Leveling guide includes special methods of fast leveling for both Dominion and Exile faction players, so be sure to take advantage of this thorough walkthrough.

As usual Killerguides continues to be at the top of the gaming guides food chain because they offer so much more than your usual guide. Also included are other strategy guides for Wildstar which will ensure you have a formidable character you are happy with, and to set you on that path are detailed chapters about crafting, PvP, equipment, class builds, spell rotations, dungeon walkthroughs, Elder content walkthroughs and more. It’s definitely a must-read if you’re trying to stay competitive and relevant in Wildstar Online so make sure you don’t skip these chapters.

I had the chance to get an early preview of 2 other guides but they haven’t been released to the public yet. Once (and if) they are I’ll be sure to add them to the list, though in all honesty it’s highly unlikely any of them has even a chance to compete with the amount of useful information provided in Killerguides guide.

Endgame is what ever MMORPG is about and it’s no surprise players are looking at all kinds of methods and strategies to help them level up faster. While there are some haters out there who dislike using any kind of game guides and like to discover everything by themselves, I think having a good leveling guide to help you get a quick grasp of the game is very helpful for newer players. If you’ve been playing Neverwinter throughout the beta testing phase for months then a lot of things about the game are probably known to you, but for anyone else who just started playing or is about to this leveling guide will definitely be very helpful.

Killerguides Leveling Guide Contents

The two most important parts of this NWN leveling guide is the quest walkthrough and leveling methods. Quest walkthroughs are very helpful when you’re trying to speed-run through levels and will help you always understand where to pick up quests and how to find objectives as quickly as possible. It includes all leveling zones and quest hubs along with maps with locations of quest-giver NPCs and mission objectives. It also contains a very useful list of quests that take more time to complete and offer low rewards so you can easily maximize your time by skipping those quests and focusing on those that reward the most experience and best equipment.

The chapter about leveling methods includes tons of important tips and tricks you need to learn in order to level up as effectively as possible. I was actually quite amazed at the amount of strategies players have discovered so far and incorporating just some of them into my gameplay definitely quickened my leveling. It’s explained in much detail so I won’t go over it here but suffice to say it’s worth reading. Another helpful chapter talks about talent trees and ability rotations specifically optimized for leveling any class to the level cap as fast as possible. It definitely helps if you don’t want to do the analysis yourself and squeezing in extra damage or survivability can certainly improve the speed at which you progress through Neverwinter.

Killerguides also contains a great guide on leveling equipment which helps you pick up the best gear for every level and even tells you where to find it. It helps immensely to have the best items for your current level and this chapter is currently the best reference you can find about it. Lastly the guide includes a gold making chapter and an auction house guide. Killerguides has another guide which is specifically focused on generating gold in Neverwinter and it’s far more detailed (you can check it out here), but this chapter does cover some of the most important basic tips, tricks and strategies you definitely don’t want to miss out on. It will without a doubt help boots your coin income in NWN and I strongly suggest you not to skip reading it.

Is Killerguides worth it?

Navigating through a Wiki gives you hard numbers and facts and isn’t very useful to average players, while this guide is focused on explaining every single detail about many aspects of Neverwinter that you can really benefit from immediately. Considering the incredible amount of information and strategies you can find in Killerguides and its constant updates I believe it’s the best investment you’ll ever make. The guide may not be free but considering how incredibly comprehensive and useful it is it’s definitely downloading. You can check out the official Killerguides page to learn more about it. If you decide to get I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Fact is, without the overwhelming success of the Diablo franchise the genre wouldn’t be nearly as popular, more so today than ever before. After a decade without another sequel from Blizzard, finally a newcomer: Diablo III.

Obviously, after so many years in development the creators of the game made many improvements to D3 to make it stand out. New unique classes are introduced, skill system is revamped, each class can have hundreds of different spell combinations, sockets work differently than before, but most importantly players can sell items for real money, making sure everyone will take this game very seriously.

If you really want to get ahead of other players in Diablo 3 a quality strategy guide will get you further than you thought possible. By getting a quality guide to help you understand the game better, level up faster and know where to get the best equipment and most gold you’ll be able to stay ahead of the competition and perhaps even make some money doing so.

Believe it or not I actually found 16 different Diablo 3 strategy guides, which is more than I’ve found for any other game, including MMORPGs. That alone should tell you that the demand for help in D3 is massive. I doubt I’ll be able to do a very thorough review of each and every guide, but I’ll try to list the better ones here regardless.

Killerguides Diablo 3 Strategy Guide

Rating: ★★★★★

Over 40 different games covered in several hundred guides tells you that Killerguides are very experienced and serious when it comes to strategy guides. Their writers are expert gamers who play through these games over and over again and know so many insider tips and tricks that most players never will.

Killerguides D3 strategy guide includes a guide on classes, telling you every little detail about each one, as well as different strategies for fighting groups of monsters, bosses, and of course other players. There are very detailed recommended builds for every class that will tell you how to get the most damage in every situation. Equipment guides are also very helpful as they can also give you an advantage by knowing which stats you should aim for. The gold guide included helps you figure out how to farm more of it extremely quickly, especially since some of the spots they mention also yield other valuables that can easily be sold on the auction house.

To conclude, Killerguides published yet another excellent strategy guide and I highly suggest you give it a try.

It includes most of the stuff you’d find in Killerguide: guides on classes, equipment, spells and skill sets, runes, boss strategies, walkthroughs and leveling guides for all acts, Pve & PvP builds, gold making, and a couple of other chapters. They go into great detail explaining things, yet all of it is very easy to understand regardless of your previous experience with Diablo series.

Of course the guide also features free updates, which seem to be coming frequently, with new strategies being added often. Natalya’s guide is just as good as Killerguides and for a change it’s hard to decide which one is better: it’s just a matter of personal preference, so it’s up to you which one to get.

Rift currency - 17 platinum, 57 gold and 60 silver

There are also other types of currencies in Rift such as planarite and valor: planarite is gained by participating in rifts and invasions and valor is gained by fighting other players in either open world PvP or Warfronts. We’ll probably not be discussing those currencies in detail here but rather focus on just platinum.

Easiest way to get more gold in Rift

One of the most simple and easiest ways you will have more platinum in Rift is by making sure your bags are always empty. Often times when you’re doing quests and participating in Rifts you don’t have enough room to pick up all the items dropped from monsters. Even worse, I’ve been known to sometimes destroy green quest rewards because I had no room for some better items.

It’s absolutely the worst thing you can do. Sometimes you simply have no choice though as you have to prioritize: I’d rather destroy a 1g worth of item than a 2g item, but it’s still just a huge waste. I definitely recommend you fill out your bag slots as soon as you can.

Where to get bags?

Quest rewards – certain quests will award you with bags

Monster drops – although not very frequently and you can’t count on it really, you will get bags even from random monsters you kill

Vendors – you can always go to the nearest “General Goods” vendor and purchase bags

Auction house – auction house is also a source for bags, and quite frequently a lot cheaper than vendors. If you’re passing by make sure to take a look, you might just strike a very cheap deal.

Inventory space can be a significant problem especially if you take all three gathering professions in order to make the most money. In that case you will have tons and tons of materials with you at all times which you definitely won’t be selling to vendors. It’s easy with random green, white and gray quality items which you can sell whenever you’re at a quest hub, but these stacks of materials are worth far more on the auction house.

In conclusion, this is the most newbie and also the most important platinum making tip I can give you. Make sure your inventory is never full so you can always loot EVERYTHING. Even the gray quality items which sell for decent amounts and if you’re serious about making platinum, every silver counts.

Making platinum with gathering professions

There are three gathering professions in Rift: butchering, foraging and mining. Needless to say if you want to make the most money while leveling up it’s no doubt the best to take all three of them. You’ll have TONS of materials to pick up all the time (assuming your bags are empty), and with a huge number of players leveling up their crafting professions all the time you have a decent demand for the raw materials.

If you do decide to take all gathering professions make sure you save some of the materials so you can level your own crafting professions later on. If you want to take only one or two gathering professions however you probably want to know which ones are the most profitable, and I’ll try to do a small analysis below.

The only resource I’ve been able to find on the popularity of certain professions is this professions guide. There are polls embedded and the current results are as follows:

Mining – 36,6%

Butchering – 31,5%

Foraging – 20,7%

The other 11,3% are haters who either don’t like gathering or whatever else. Based on this we can assume most players are picking up mining and butchering, and by a significant percentage.

On the other hand, and from the same guide, we know the popularity of crafting professions as well:

Apothecary – 20,6%

Outfitting – 17%

Weaponsmithing – 15,6%

Armorsmithing – 15,6%

Runecrafting – 13,5%

Artificing – 12,1%

Mining gives materials mostly for weaponsmiths and armorsmiths which in theory gives you access to the biggest pool of players looking for them: 31%. It’s also a bit useful for runecrafters, thus increasing this number to almost 45% of the player base.

Butchering is used to provide materials for outfitters, and a small bit for armorsmiths and apothecaries, thus having the demand of roughly 55% of the player base.

Lastly foraging gives materials for apothecaries, artificers and even weaponsmiths. Those three crafting professions combined roughly equal to 46% of players.

From these statistics we can conclude the following: while butchering is seemingly profitable it doesn’t have enough players with the appropriate crafting skills: most of the demand is from outfitters and far less from armorsmiths and apothecaries. A lot of players are also taking butchering because it’s easy to gather materials since you’re killing beasts most of the time, but that also reflects the prices on leather and hides.

On the other hand there is a rather high demand for ore. Both weaponsmithing and armorsmithing are popular professions and require a lot of ore for crafting. While low-level ore is relatively easy to come by and the prices are cheap, high-level ore like Platinum or Orichalcum sells for quite a lot. It’s also popular to take both armorsmithing and weaponsmithing as a warrior so having mining is a must, otherwise you’ll be spending a ton of money buying overpriced ore from other players.

Foraging is clearly the least favorite gathering profession but also possible one with the most potential for making platinum. Apothecary is the most popular crafting profession, and if you look at the numbers closely you’ll notice there’s almost the same number of apothecaries and foragers. Potions and elixirs are always wanted commodities and if you can craft high-level ones you’re bound to make plenty of money. A lot of higher level players are also dropping gathering professions and focusing on crafting only so there will in fact always be a demand for herbs. Additionally, you can sell wood to artificers and weaponsmiths.

When picking gathering professions you should 100% first figure out which crafting profession you’ll take along with it. These are some basic recommendations:

Warriors: Weaponsmithing, Armorsmithing

Clerics: Armorsmithing, Artificing, Apothecary

Mages: Outfitting, Artificing, Apothecary

Rogues: Outfitting, Weaponsmithing

Your first gathering profession should thus definitely be picked according to your preferred crafting profession.

Basically all of the three gathering professions are profitable, even though I’d rank them like this:

Mining

Foraging

Butchering

You should not actually look at this ranking but rather think about which crafting professions you’ll be picking later on, because most of these platinum-making profitability factors will be irrelevant if you end up buying materials from other players.

My recommendation: pick all three gathering professions and make the most of it. Take a look at roughly how many raw materials you’ll need in order to level up gathering professions and save it in your bank for later on, and sell the rest. By the time you hit level 50 and decide on crafting professions you’ll have a ton of materials to level up any crafting profession you like, and more than enough platinum to purchase any additional mats you might need.

But hey, that’s just my opinion. If you have better ideas be sure to post them in the comments below!

Platinum making tip: get a banker alt!

Banker alts are nothing new. If you ever played an MMORPG before you most likely know what I’m talking about, and how much easier they can make your life.

A banker alt is basically a character you make in order to utilize additional inventory space and get easier access to the auction house. If you took all three gathering professions to make platinum it’s very likely that your characters inventory and your bank combined is simply not enough for all the materials you gather. In that case your options are to either get rid of those mats on the auction or create another character to hold it for you.

The latter is a preferable option, because you should never feel forced to sell items. You’ll often sell them underpriced in that case and waste even more platinum. Fortunately creating a banker alt doesn’t require a lot of work. Basically you make another character and get him to your faction’s capital city. Park him near a bank or a mailbox for convenience sake. You can then easily use his inventory to store items, as well as quickly relog from one character to another if you wish to sell some of the items on the auction house: it saves a lot of time since you won’t have to travel with your main character.

Just as with your main character, you should buy additional bags on your banker alt as well. They don’t have to have 16 slots immediately, but having additional space is always beneficial. Consider how much space you need and buy bags accordingly. You can even start with several 4-slot bags you get from quests or just buy them off the AH. They will pay off quickly.

Make sure you utilize the mailbox as well. It can be used as temporary storage if you need it. Also, if you run out of inventory room on your banker alt you can always make another. It might get a bit difficult to keep track of all items across several different characters, but if you keep for example ore on one character and herbs on another you’ll get used to it soon.

Auction house flipping basics

Flipping items on the auction house basically means buying them for low prices and reselling for higher in order to make a profit. It’s not an exact science and it’s hard to say what works and what doesn’t. Basically it requires good knowledge of the market and your server’s economy, as the prices can often vary from shard to shard.

Lots of players try to do this but frequently fail. Many are lazy to do the proper research and end up wasting more platinum than they earn, or earn so little it’s not even worth the effort. A few years ago, back in my WoW days I used to make literally thousands of gold weekly just by spending 10-15 minutes per day browsing the auction house. It’s not overly complicated and you don’t have to have a degree in economy in order to turn a profit, but some basics are necessary to know before you get started.

1. Start slowly

Don’t expect you can just visit the AH, buy a random item and sell it for a fortune. In most cases that will turn out badly and you’ll end up desperately trying to sell the item in order to get your investment back. Which brings me to…

2. Be patient

Patience is the key. You also shouldn’t expect to sell an item 5 minutes after you purchase it. The prices often fluctuate a great deal, and what may be cheap one day may be expensive another, even a week after. It also depends on the supply as well: if there are 10 identical rare Daggers listed all the time it’s unlikely you’ll be able to (re)sell it for a substantial amount.

3. Sell what you know

Don’t try to flip rare items (blue or purple) if you don’t know the prices. And I don’t mean the current prices, but rather how they fluctuate through a week or even month. Stick to selling items you are confident you know prices on, for example if you have all gathering professions and always sell raw materials then. If you have armorsmithing you most likely know the prices for crafted items so start there, and later on when you memorize the prices of related items you’ll know for how much to buy or sell.

Those are the three key things you should known about auction house flipping. It’s not hard, but can sometimes be time consuming. If you’re serious about flipping then make sure you log in and browse the auction house for at least 10 minutes a day: you’ll quickly get the hang of it and within a week or two you’ll know which items sell easily and for how much. If you use a banker alt you don’t even have to bother traveling to the capital city.

Making platinum with Weaponsmithing

Currently one of the most profitable crafting professions can be weaponsmithing. The reasons are actually quite simple: there’s a lack of decent weapon rewards from quests.

This is especially true for warriors and rogues which are highly dependent on quality weapons and they do increase their DPS by a decent amount. It’s important to upgrade them frequently for these callings so you should definitely do your best to monetize it as much as possible.

Selling on the auction house however might not be as profitable as advertising your crafted items in chat channels, so take that into consideration as well.

Making platinum with Runebreaking

From my experiences so far runecrafting is extremely profitable. A bunch of players are just now leveling up so there isn’t much demand for enchanting items yet, but it soon surely will be. As soon as more players hit level 50 and start doing instances and raids, thus getting better gear, they will start investing a lot of money in order to put quality enchantments on them.

But this post won’t really talk about making platinum with runecrafting, but rather runebreaking. Runebreaking is a skill you get when you learn runecrafting which enables you to destroy green or better quality gear and get shards, essences and other items required for runecrafting. All the time the quest items I receive and don’t need, or the gear I replace I runebreak to gain materials needed to level up the profession. As such leveling runecrafting can be expensive since you don’t sell those items to vendors, but I’m sure it’ll all pay off many times once I hit the cap.

Anyway, the materials you get from runebreaking your items are quite often worth twice as much if you sell them on the auction house. At lower levels you’ll typically sell green items for 1-2g, and these raw materials can be sold for 3-4g easily. I expect the prices to increase as well as soon as more players start hitting level 50 and leveling their professions, of which runecrafting will surely be popular as well.

Another way you can earn plenty of gold also is by buying green items on the AH and then runebreaking them. Sometimes you’ll find green items sold for such cheap prices that vendors will actually give you more money than it costs you to buy it from the auction house — there’s always players who don’t check the actual price of the item. Auction house flipping suddenly gets a lot more profitable for runecrafters! Lots of players don’t know what to do with crafted items as well and will gladly get rid of them for no profit at all: be sure to check the chat channels from time to time as well for good offers.

In most cases runebreaking an item can yield a decent profit and takes very little work.

Have you found an item you can consistenly runebreak in order to make a profit? Did you find runebreaking to be as profitable as I did, or do you consider runecrafting as a profession just a drain on your income? Answer these questions and tell us what you think in the comments below!

Killerguides published a guide for pretty much any game you can think of and their authors have years of experience, not only in writing quality guides, but also in playing these games and finding the little secrets and tricks to make it easier. Killerguides LotRO guide is an all-in-one strategy guide for the game covering leveling in great detail, but also many other aspects of LotRO such as crafting, raiding, reputation system, class deeds, character stats, harvesting, weapons and armor and my favorite, a gold making guide.

Basically, Killerguides offers about a dozen guides for the price of one and the competition is not even close to that. You can also check out the other guides they offer, as the increasing popularity of the game demanded more and more specific class, gold making and other guides.

Number one on the list of Warhammer Online leveling guides and definitely my favorite is Goblin’s guide. It has everything you’ll need from a leveling guide: it’s easy to follow, has detailed maps, screenshots, quest coordinates and it’ll get you to rank 40 before you know it. I really can’t explain how awesome it truly is, plus it also has a gold guide, RvR guide, career guides, tradeskill/crafting skills guide and more, which is way more than in other guides. Get it today!

Ashlings Warhammer Leveling Guide

Rating: ★★★★☆

Ashlings guide is similar to Goblins guide, but it does not include as many bonuses. However, it does have a crafting guide and an RvR/Renown guide. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves: the leveling guide found in Ashlings guide is indeed excellent just like in Goblins. Quests are also accompanied with maps, coordinates and sometimes even screenshots to help you where needed. If all you’re after is a leveling guide, Ashlings won’t disappoint, but due to many bonuses in Goblins guide I can’t help but put this one second.

Killerguides Warhammer Strategy Guide

Rating: ★★★★☆

Killerguides is a well-known publisher of strategy guides for most MMO games, including Warhammer Online. As such, their guide is much better than some others, but I can’t help but notice the lack of work done on the leveling part of the guide. I guess they were eager to release it, but nevertheless it’s still more than helpful. No maps though :(. Killerguides War guide, like the two guides described above also has additional bonuses: RvR guide, gold making guide, equipment guide and a crafting guide. Not sure if you noticed, but gold guides for Warhammer usually sell separately (like this one), so this is certainly a nice surprise. Anyway, this certainly isn’t the best leveling guide you can find, but will do just fine.

Warhammer Elite

Rating: ★★★☆☆

Warhammer Elite is a leveling guide without any bonuses, and it focuses solely on leveling. Unfortunately, the price does not reflect that, so you’ll have to dish out nearly the same price as for other guides reviewed above. The quests are decently described though and maps with coordinates are included.

Note: Fantoms guide is no longer available!

Fantom’s Warhammer leveling guide is the one which advertises the most, yet is far from the best. It does have a few high points, but none that would make you get it rather than some other guide.

I’d be lying if I said it’s a bad guide, but there are better ones. If not for the (more or less) decent leveling path I probably wouldn’t even include it here, so my recommendation is to look for a better one (hint: try one with more bonuses!).

Stephens Warhammer Leveling Guide

Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Just like Penn’s leveling guide, Stephen’s doesn’t come with any additional bonuses and I really advise you to get some other guide.

Conclusion: Get Goblins guide, you will not be disappointed! If for some odd reason you don’t like it, you will like Ashlings guide. If you’re more into gold guides, Goblins and Killerguides guide are the only ones which will help.
